Dreams come true

My dreams were finally right in front of me, Corbin’s Coffee shack and lunch; the huge sign read of my newly bought and furnished café’. I had saved for years and worked many unpleasant jobs to be able to hold this one. I had everything in place to open the next day. I went down my checklist for sandwiches and chips at lunch time, and then made sure I had everything for my espresso machine. My husband reminded me I needed to contact cable tv for business owners and line up music channels for my new shop. He reminded me coffee lovers, loved classical music. I got my music lined up for a day of success. The next day at 9:00 I opened up for business, I had a super busy day with many happy customers. At lunchtime my café was packed you could hardly weave yourself through the people. Many were working on work things and school work. The music made for wonderful background noise. My dream was official I had created a place that everyone in my hometown could relax and enjoy themselves.

this is one big dream of mine too. just waiting for God's go signal. I don't have the money, don't have the place, don't have everything. Yet I have the dream :).

Cassava Cake (Filipino Recipe)

I got this on the group I belong in. Shredded fresh cassava (my local grocery store called it yuca), coconut milk, condensed milk, evaporated milk. eggs, sugar, butter, and vanilla. For toppings coconut milk, condensed milk, and two egg yolks. If you like to try them just goggle the recipe. My recipe is a quarter of what most posted. I can't eat the whole recipe, that would take me a year or so to finish hahaha. And yes, I am the only one that eat them in this household. Looking at the pictures my co-members post in the group makes me want to try them. One slice is perfect for me. But since I cannot cook just one slice, I have to divide the recipe to the smallest amount I can.

Mango Float

They are in season now a days. I am talking about mostly any fruits. Here is my version of mango float that similar Filipino goes gaga about. Like I mentioned in my previous post, the sugar in this recipe is the killer. I can have this maybe once a year and I still prefer just plain mango anytime. This one was taken after a few hours in the freezer. You can see the cream and milk mixture are still runny. This one is taken the next day, when frozen. It turns out that DH love it. The only complaint he got was the taste is not even. He still wanted to make ice cream with the same ingredients. I can't wait to see how it would taste.

Paksiw & Strawberry Banana Smoothie

This is my FTF entry for this week. Paksiw (sour broth) frozen baby bonito (tulingan). I settled for frozen ones, because this is very hard to find in my area. Always eaten with ton of rice...lol I don't have any other vegetables to mix with it but the pepper. I was lazy to go out (shopping) with the heat we are having. And for dessert; strawberry banana smoothie. I was weeding my vegetable garden today and I was sweating a lot. What a nice drink to have! Very filling (sweet) and refreshing after soaking under a hot sun. For more FTF images, just follow the image below.
