Another cup of homemade hot cocoa to warm up the regular visitors "In My Kitchen". We have plenty of whip cream left from Thanksgivings and I am trying to get rid of it fast. Have some and stay warm my friends.
Oh.. I just remembered I want to get myself some whip cream when I saw this. LOL! I always love putting extra whip cream on top of my ice-blended vanilla + banana mix. :P Yum yum..
1/4 cup packed brown sugar 1/4 cup soy sauce 3 Tbsp unsweetened pineapple juice 3 Tbsp red wine vinegar 3 garlic cloves, minced 1 tsp lemon juice 1 tsp ground ginger 1/2 tsp pepper 4 or 5 pork chops In a small bowl, combine the first nine ingredients. pour 3/4 cup into large resealable plastic bag; add pork chops. Seal bag and turn to coat; refrigerate for 1 hour, turning occasionally. Set aside remaining marinade for basting. Brush grill rack with cooking oil before starting the grill. Drain and discard marinade. Place pork chop on the rack. Grill, covered, for 5 minutes. Brush with reserved marinade. Grill 15-20 minutes longer or until golden brown. It depends what kind of oven you have. Some oven you only turn the knob to broil other you need to set the temperature. But I usually broil with the temperature of 400 degree F. Or broil set on low because on high it tends to burn the meat fast. You can substitute this with chicken and meaty fish also.
This is my FTF entry for this week. Paksiw (sour broth) frozen baby bonito (tulingan). I settled for frozen ones, because this is very hard to find in my area. Always eaten with ton of rice...lol I don't have any other vegetables to mix with it but the pepper. I was lazy to go out (shopping) with the heat we are having. And for dessert; strawberry banana smoothie. I was weeding my vegetable garden today and I was sweating a lot. What a nice drink to have! Very filling (sweet) and refreshing after soaking under a hot sun. For more FTF images, just follow the image below.
This is my third time making this. I used red bell peppers the last I made some and you can see the images of that dish here . This time I blanched the peppers because DH was complaining last time that the peppers are not cook. And this time added some mozzarella on top too. I like it with cheese and I will make this with cheese from now on. DH only ate half of one and our kids ate the stuffings. I only wish they eat food the way I do. However, I don't have any problem with them when it comes with desserts. For more FTF entrees, please give Ms. Willa's blog a visit by following the image below. Have a great weekend!
