Another Accomplished Recipe (part 3) Special Ensaymada

Today for Willa's one year anniversary at Food Trip Friday, here is my entree "Special Ensaymada" from my kitchen. This is a lot of work to make however, I was able to make it.

I think they call it special because of the cheese in the ingredients. (who knows...lol).

I added white cheese and creamed butter with sugar. My family did not like it very much. Like I said there are only 3 of us who ate it. I still have 4 left and I put them in the freezer for later.

The recipe called for 20 pieces, but being sooo sticky and soft I was able to make 18 pieces. Below it what it looks like after taking it out of the oven. The dark speckled are the cheese I mix in with the dough.

Below is what they look like after making the spiral and rising for the fourth and last time, before going into a 350°F oven for 15 minutes.

The recipe can be found in my previous post and read about my mishap also. I will make this again when I have fellow filipino guests in my house. These are way too much just for 3 people, and did I mention I am allergic to all purpose flour? My mouth is not very happy eating all this stuff...lol

nakaka-miss yung ganyang ensaymada compared to those releasem
yup! it's the cheese toppings that make it so special. Your Ensaymada reminds me of my favorite from Goldilocks. :)

Ensaymada, my favorite! I like it warm enough to melt butter on it and downed with a warm chocolate drink. I envy you for making it look so easy to do. I get so intimidated by this! hahaha.

Have a great weekend.

@ u8, I was craving for this for a long time. Now, that I made some, I don't think I can have more until next year...lol

@ Willa, ok so the cheese. I actually mix 1 cup of cheese with the dough also.

@ Sreisaat, I can relate with the intimidation you are talking about...lol. Mahirap palang gumawa plus this is way too much eggs for me.

@ Lui, lol I think I will just buy it from now on. This is too much work...lol

@ Dawn, yes they do. Hubby is not very fond of it either.

@ Cecile, I understand why hindi na naulit. Sakit ang paa ko dito sa pag-gawa. Yes, I also like the cheese. It added flavors when eating it.

Thanks everyone. I will visit the rest of you after my kids lessons. Have a great weekend and Happy Anniversary to FTF!
