Potato Salad

In My KitchenThis is DH favorite lunch during summer days. He likes eating something cold when it's hot outside. The real tough part is to make sure it stays cold inside his lunch bag. I had to put a lot of ice pack and his light lunch bag turn into this heavy, nothing much inside lunch bag but ice.

This was made with the yellow potato. I prefer red baby potatoes but I can't find anything. He likes the red baby potato the best because they are kinda like the baby carrots, sweet and nice to put your teeth into. I can get it from my local farmers market. But when I went there to get some they don't have it yet. I guess it is still too early.

The salad is mix with hard boiled eggs, chop onions, chop celery, salt pepper, mustard and mayonnaise. The chop onions and celery he prefer not to have. He does not like anything crunchy with it. I will be making this again next weekend for my youngest DS 3rd birthday party, and I'm hoping I can get some baby red potatoes before then.

Potatoe salad is my favorite as well. I like putting some relish in it to make it a little zippy as well as what you have although I must admit onions and celery are not my favorite. I like cucumbers and carrots in mine and lots of eggs and I use the red potatoes too but maybe I will give the baby reds a turn.

Mango Float

They are in season now a days. I am talking about mostly any fruits. Here is my version of mango float that similar Filipino goes gaga about. Like I mentioned in my previous post, the sugar in this recipe is the killer. I can have this maybe once a year and I still prefer just plain mango anytime. This one was taken after a few hours in the freezer. You can see the cream and milk mixture are still runny. This one is taken the next day, when frozen. It turns out that DH love it. The only complaint he got was the taste is not even. He still wanted to make ice cream with the same ingredients. I can't wait to see how it would taste.

French Toast

An updated version from last week . Like I promise I will take a better picture and better presentation and I think I did a better job this time. And I used sour dough bread this week. This one with only powder sugar on top. With powder sugar and maple syrup. And yes natural maple syrup is the best. There is nothing compare to bacon cooked in their fat and maple syrup. I could not even finish two pieces of toast. They are very heavy in my stomach.
